Morning rain clears SE England then colder and showery

Good morning,

It's a chilly start to Friday, especially in the north and west with wintry showers and icy conditions across Scotland, N Ireland and N England too. Morning rain is expected through across SE England but this soon clearing in the coming hours.

Through the afternoon and wintry showers will contiue across Scotland, N Ireland and N England for a time with some additional snow accumulations on higher ground, drier and brighter though further south and east, with some prolonged spells of sunshine for south and south-eastern areas of England.

Into Friday evening and all areas will become cold with a widespread frost developing along with some icy patches as well. Later in the night it will turn increasingly wet and windy across parts of Scotland and Ireland.
