Issued: 0530hrs Friday 13th October 2017 Duty forecaster: Garry Nicholson
Extensive cloud; hill and coastal fog west
Good morning,
A south-westerly airflow influences the British Isles, with low pressure centred well to the north around Iceland, and high pressure over Europe.
Blustery winds, strongest in the west. A long waving front extends across north-western areas bringing persistent rain and low cloud to western Scotland, north-west England, Wales and much of Ireland.
A little drizzle or spots of rain elsewhere, but largely dry in central & eastern Britain. Generally cloudy skies. Brightest in the east, but only rare glimpses of sun, mainly toward the north-east.
Today's top temperatures will reach a humid 17 to 20C, warmest in eastern England, and locally elsewhere to the lee of high ground. Nearer 14C where rain persists.
Have a great day. Garry
