Heat wave continues
Sunny and hot

Issued: 0530hrs Monday 19 June 2017
Duty forecaster: John Ejdowski

Most of this week we'll see temperatures remaining well above normal with the heat wave continuing. Apart from some rain across northern Scotland, it's going to be a dry day with long spells of sunshine. Sea breezes will develop keeping the coasts cooler in the afternoon. Pollen levels will be quite high as will the sunburn index. Highs will range from 19 in the north to a hot 31 Celsius in the south.

This evening and tonight outbreaks of rain and drizzle are likely across the Western Isles. The bulk of Britain will be dry with evening sunshine ahead of a very warm, dry and muggy night. Expect minimum temperatures of 11 to 15 Celsius in the north, but a very warm 17 to 20 Celsius in the south.

If you are heading abroad it's looking the heat wave continues across Spain with lots of showers across SE Europe.
