Chilly start and then mainly dry

Good morning,

It's a chilly start with some frost and icy patches in places, along with some wintry showers across parts of the north and east. Otherwise emphasis is on a lot of dry weather with some bright or sunny spells through the rest of the morning.

Little change through the afternoon, mainly dry for most with some bright or sunny spells, few wintry showers across E England perhaps and then by evening some light or moderate, rain or drizzle developing across W Scotland and Ireland.

Cold with frost and icy patches across England and Wales into Friday night, but increasingly unsettled and damp weather across Scotland and Ireland with a mix of rain, sleet and hill snow will move down into N England and Wales, at least, by the end of the night.
