Mild and increasingly windy, rain in the west
Good morning,
An increasingly breezy day today but mild for most of us. There will be some bright spells, the best of these in the east, although tending to cloud over here in the afternoon.
Rain into Ireland and western Scotland this morning will be edging eastwards through the day, reaching western Wales, the far southwest of England and northwest England by this evening. Eastern and southern areas should be staying drier overall and remaining mild here. Winds reaching gales force on western coasts and hills later.
Tonight sees the winds and rai sweeping east, turning to snow over northern hills with gales in places. Squally winds accompanying the rain as it heads east.
