Rain persistent west

Heavy rain most of day across hills of Wales

Good morning,

A mild south-westerly airflow influences the British Isles. Slow-moving fronts bring outbreaks of rain, most persistent in the west & north, but some rain will also spread across the Midlands and East Anglia in the morning.

Rain will be frequent across much of western Britain, at best on and off throughout the day, but is likely to be heaviest and most prolonged for Wales. Waving frontal systems send another pulse of heavy rain across southern Ireland into the afternoon. Rain turns heavier in north-west England again by evening too.

A warm sector lies across southern Britain, bringing extensive cloudy skies, but very little rain - mostly just patchy drizzle. Murky around the English Channel, especially in the west.

Some brighter skies may develop for north-east England and eastern Scotland. Frequent showery rain for the west of Scotland.

Today's top temperatures may get close to 20C in any brighter spells toward the south-east, and 16 to 18C for many central-eastern areas. Nearer 12 to 15C north & west of Britain, also Ireland.

Have a great day.
