Rain in the west
Fair for many

A fine day across much of the east, but rain arrives in the west

Good morning,

It's a chilly and frosty start ot the day over much of Scotland and northern England, a patchier frost affecting southern England and Wales. This soon clears to leave a fine morning for much of the UK with lots of sunshine, the best of it in the east. A few showers may affect western parts of Scotland but otherwise it should be dry. Staying fair for most of us this afternoon across much of Scotland and eastern England, although the sunshine turning more hazy as the day progresses.

It's a different story for Ireland where it's going to be turning wet this morning. This band of rain will be accompanied by strengthening winds as it pushes into western Wales and southwest England by midday. The rain band then continues it's push east into this afternoon, making things wet for western Scotland, western England, Wales and the Midlands as well as central southern England by this evening.

Rain then spreads east overnight to affect all areas before turning drier in much of Scotland and northern England in the early hours. Rather cloudy and drizzle in southern Ireland, Wales and the southern half of the UK.
