Cold, wet and breezy southern areas, sunnier to the north

Good morning,

Wet and breezy over central, southern and eastern England this morning. Some heavy bursts of rain here, not clearing the coasts of East Anglia and southeast England until mid-afternoon.

Much brighter weather is following to the west. Good spells of sunshine is already into parts of western Scotland and Ireland although heavy showers affecting western Ireland. Showers then spread east into the rest of Ireland as well as western coasts and hills of the UK.

Dry with clear skies tonight allowing for a widespread ground frost, becoming cloudier in Ireland.
