Issued: 0530hrs Monday 20 March 2017 After a mild week temperatures are going to fall as it becomes more like winter than spring. Still mild across the south today but quite a windy day. Outbreaks of heavy rain clear Scotland and Northern Ireland followed by showers which turn wintry over the hills of northern Scotland. A wet day across much of England and Wales. By late afternoon it's a drier scene with the rain across East Anglia and the south east. Plenty of showers though across Northern Ireland, North Wales and Scotland. Expect highs of 7 to 12 Celsius. It continues windy this evening and overnight with showers and longer spells of rain to affect the northern half of Britain. These will be wintry over high ground. Overnight it's much drier but still plenty of showers are expected across Scotland and Northern Ireland, wintry over the hills. A colder night to comes with minimum temperatures of 1 to 4 Celsius.
