Fresher with sunshine and scattered showers, most in the west

Good morning,

This morning is likely to be fresh and bright across much of the country. There will be sunny spells, the best of them to the south. A few showers could affect high ground in the west with a chance of some more persistent showers or rain in Ireland, this spreading east.

The showers then pass through most of Ireland and into western Scotland, an odd one heavy. For the rest of the country it will be dry with sunny spells and a brisk west wind in northern and western areas.

Tonight sees some rain in western and northern Ireland as well as western Scotland. Dry elsewhere with clear spells and mostly light winds.
