A milder day with sunshine and showers, some of them heavy and thundery

Good morning,

Get set for a showery day for most of the UK and Ireland today. There will be some good spells of sunshine this morning, the best of them in central and eastern areas of England and Scotland. Showers, already in the west, will be edging steadily eastwards as the day moves on.
 

This then brings an afternoon with a mix of sunshine and showers. The showers are likely to be fairly scattered but they could be heavy and thundery for some. These showers then fading in Ireland, western Scotland, western Wales and western England after mid afternoon. Feeling warmer for all.

Isolated showers again tonight across more central nd eastern areas although the majority of places staying dry with clear spells. Becoming fairly chilly in more sheltered areas.
