Windy and cold with rain, sleet and snow on western coasts and hills

Good morning,

A chilly and windy morning for all parts of the UK and Ireland, gales affecting western areas. There will be frequent showers, some wintry affecting western coasts and hills. The showers here continue throughout the day and may merge into longer spells of rain, sleet and snow at times. Feeling cold in the wind.

Eastern parts of the UK will be brighter and drier with sunny spells. Feeling cold in the wind. Just an odd shower through the day here, perhaps wintry if they occur.

Showers, some wintry in eastern England tonight. Further showers in the west too. Staying breezy and feeling cold. A widespread frost excelpt on western coasts.
