Cloudy south and west but brighter east, windier and showery Scotland Showers in northern and western Scotland and windier here as well. There is a risk of gales, some severe in the north. More eastern and southern parts of Scotland should experience a brighter day with sunny spells and it should be dry too. Mostly dry and bright in much of central and northern Ireland, although the cloud thickening as the day progresses. Staying cloud in Ireland, England and Wales tonight with drizzle across western coasts and hills. Drier for most of Scotland although staying showers and breezy in the far north.
