Thursday
A ridge of high pressure builds over the UK on Thursday. There may be a few spots of drizzle in East Anglia early this morning, but this soon clearing. Elsewhere cloud is going to be breaking with some brighter spells developing and some sunshine too. Western coasts and hills always tending to be cloudier. Western Ireland will see thicker cloud with rain, this rain spreading east into the west and central parts of Scotland and the rest of Ireland in the afternoon. Winds increasing in Ireland and western Scotland in the morning and then western England and Wales in the afternoon. Highs at 8 to 12C, cool in the west, milder in the sunshine.


Thursday Night
Cloud affecting many parts of the country overnight. There will be drizzle over northern England and western Scotland, the most persistent of this early on over the hills of western Scotland. Some drizzle and patchy rain drifting south over eastern coasts of England and into East Anglia through the early hours. tending to be drier to the west and south of Wales and England, and a tendency for drier weather to affect most areas as the night moves on. Lows at 4 to 8C.


Friday
A cold front affecting the far east of England very early on Friday morning bringing some showery rain. This clears eastwards with brighter weather following to much of England, Wales and eastern Scotland. Rain in northern Scotland with low pressure to the north, and this rain band affecting Northern Ireland too. Tending to stay drier in northern Wales and northern England, although a further area of rain may affect the south of Ireland, southern Wales and southwest England in the afternoon as a further area of low pressure passes to the south. Highs at 6C in northern Scotland, 14C in southeast England and 9 to 11C for most other areas.


Saturday
Low pressure to the northwest of Scotland on Saturday. Showers affecting western Scotland and western Ireland, these extending into Wales and parts of the Midlands. Morning rain in southeastern England clearing away. Most areas will be dry with sunny spells as cloud breaks. Highs at 8 to 12C.
