Heavy showers northwest

Tuesday
A warm and humid day for many today. There will be plenty of cloud around, especially to the west and south with some mist on the coasts and hills. A few spots of drizzle cannot be ruled out here either. However, the cloud will be breaking in places with sunny spells coming through, the best through more central and eastern areas. More persistent rain and drizzle may affect northwest Wales and Northern Ireland, this extending into southwest Scotland in the afternoon as further rain reaches central and western Ireland. Early rain in northeast Scotland should fade by afternoon allowing for a drier afternoon. Highs at 18C in northeast Scotland, more widely 21 to 25C.


Tuesday Night
Heavy rain affecting northern parts of Ireland tonight, this also affecting western Scotland, some of it thundery. he rain also reaches northern England and northern parts of Wales early on, before passing eastwards and a few showers triggering into Midlands and southern England. Drier in most of East Anglia and southeast England as well as becoming drier later in Ireland, Wales and western England. Lows at 14 to 18C.


Wednesday
Low pressure to the west of Scotland on Wednesday as a cold front clears eastern coasts. This is going to be bringing some rain in northern and eastern Scotland as well as eastern England at first. Drier and brighter weather follows from the west although there will be showers in western Ireland. The showers then pass eastwards in the afternoon and turn heavier in Ireland with an odd one triggering in west Wales. Most should be dry and bright in the afternoon with sunny spells. Turning fresher from the west with highs at 17 to 23C.


Thursday
The area of low pressure is expected to drift into Scotland on Thursday. This brings heavy showers or longer spells of rain with it through western Scotland and the northern half of Ireland, breezy here too. A drier start in eastern Scotland but showers and rain arrive here laer. Heavy showers across southern Ireland. Dry with plenty of sunny intervals in much of England and Wales, although increasing cloud with a risk of some showers bursts of rain later in northwest England, Wales and southwest England. Breezy in the west. Highs at 17 to 22C.
