Snow in northeast
Milder to south

Saturday
A strong easterly wind is going to be affecting much of the country again through Saturday. Snow showers will be blowing into eastern Scotland and northeast England. An area of more persistent snow affecting parts of Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, slowly edging north. Milder weather with freezing rain across southwest England in the morning, edges north into Wales through the morning and afternoon as another areas of rain arrives in the southwest. Rain too for southern coasts and hills of Ireland. Milder air slowly spreading to the south, turning mist and foggy as it does. Best in western Scotland and northwest England where it should be dry with some sunny spells. Highs at 1 to 5C.


Saturday Night
Damp across southern Ireland, southern Wales, southern England and the Midlands on Saturday night. Periods of rain, some of it falling as ice will affect the area, some sleet on hills. Further snow showers in eastern Scotland and northeast England. Drier in the west of Scotland, northwest England and Northern Ireland. Lows at 4C in the far south, -4C in central Scotland.


Sunday
Low pressure over the southwest of the UK on Sunday brings a dull day to many. There will be outbreaks of rain throughout across much of England and Wales with plenty of low cloud and hill fog too. Some wintry showers persist in northeast England and eastern Scotland, but drier and brighter to the west. Temperatures reaching 9C in southeast England but still cold across northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland with tops of 2 to 4C.


Monday
Low pressure dominates the weather on Monday. There will be plenty of cloud and a few spots of drizzle and light rain for many areas. Cloud and some periods of sleet and snow in central and northern Scotland. Highs around 3C in northern Scotland, 10C in southern England.
