Warm with some heavy rain in the west

As a ridge of high pressure builds over the east of the UK and the winds turn more southerly, temperatures are going to become warm or very warm. There will be some rain in the west which could be heavy over western slopes. Little change is expected into next week.

Friday 13/10/17
An increased southwest flow through Friday as front slips south bringing some rain to Scotland, Ireland and northwest England. Western coasts having a tendency towards lower cloud and drizzle. Drier in more eastern and southern areas with some bright or sunny spells, although southern coasts could see some low cloud too. Highs at 15 to 21C.


Saturday 14/10/17
Pressure builds across the near continent on Saturday. A ridge of high pressure extends into the UK bringing bright and dry as well as warm weather into England and Wales. More persistent rain over most of Ireland and southwest Scotland too. Drier in the far north of Scotland with only a few spots of rain in the east. Highs at 22C in the sunshine to the south, 15C in western Scotland.


Sunday 15/10/17
Fronts bringing rain and stronger winds into western Ireland and northwest Scotland on Sunday. It is likely that eastern Scotland, most of England and Wales should be dry with some sunny spells here although there could be some lower cloud and drizzle on western coasts and hills. Brisk winds in western areas too. Highs at a very warm 22C in the south and east, 15C in western Scotland.


Monday 16/10/17
Fronts are likely to bring cloud and some outbreaks of rain in Ireland and Wales as well as southwest England and much of Scotland on Monday. Tending to be drier in southern and eastern England and staying warm here too. Highs at 15 to 22C.


Tuesday 17/10/17
A cloudier and wet day across many western and northern areas on Tuesday. There will be some heavy bursts of rain, although staying drier in the south and east. Highs at 15 to 21C.

Wednesday 18/10/17
Western areas could again see some rain on Wednesday and this may extend through northern England. Showers or rain affecting Scotland and Ireland too. Drier for southern and eastern England with some sunny spells. Highs at 14 to 21C.
