Driest in south mid week
Deep low pressure moves north of Scotland and brings wet and windy conditions to the start of this week. High pressure then builds in by mid week and this settles the weather down to give some fine, dry days. Fronts then affect much of Britain giving an unsettled weekend. Temperatures will be generally be near or below normal and feeling colder in strong winds.

Wednesday 04/10/17 Very windy in the north on Wednesday with heavy rain across Northern Ireland, Scotland and northern England - dry to the south. That rain spreads south in the evening and night and it remains quite windy. Expect highs of 10 to 17C.
Thursday 05/10/17 Temperatures will be around normal in the south, a bit below normal in the north. A dry, mostly sunny day for most - cloudier across the north west with scattered showers. Windy in the north and east. Showers persist across north west in the night. Dry and clear in the south. Expect highs of 12 to 16C.
Friday 06/10/17 Overall colder on Friday and less windy. Apart from showers in the north west, a dry day with a good deal of cloud and sunnier spells in the south but south west England may see some rain in the afternoon. Outbreaks of rain and drizzle affect much of the country overnight. Look for highs of 12 to 14C.
Saturday 07/10/17 Heavy rain across England and Wales clears by the afternoon. Mostly dry across Britain with a good deal of cloud. Colder for most. Clear and dry overnight with fog developing. Frost may also develop across the north. Expect highs of 11 to 15C.
Sunday 08/10/17 An area of rain across western parts of Britain will be spreading eastward into all but East Anglia and the south east. A sunny morning to come across central and eastern areas. Generally temperatures remain below normal. Expect highs of 8 to 15C.
Monday 09/10/17 A milder day to come. A front may bring rain and drizzle to western parts of Britain. Eastern areas look mainly dry and bright with some hazy sunshine. Look for highs of 11 to 18C.
