Rain and showers
Overall much of this upcoming week is looking unsettled with low pressure areas being the main feature of the weather. Fronts will come in at times to bring spells of rain followed by showers. Temperatures will be generally normal to above normal, cooler to the north.

Tuesday 15/08/17 Generally an unsettled day with a good deal of cloud and occasional showers. Persistent rain across Scotland and north east England clears in the morning. A dry evening and night to come as showers soon fade. Expect highs of 176 to 23C.
Wednesday 16/08/17 Most eastern parts of England and Scotland should be mainly dry with sunnier spells. Scattered showers to affect western parts of Britain. Rain spreads into western areas in the evening and turns light and patchy as it spreads eastward in the night. Expect highs of 17 to 22C.
Thursday 17/08/17 Mostly cloudy today and staying unsettled. Rain across eastern parts of England and Scotland clears by the afternoon. A showery day to come for most and some of the showers may be heavy. Showers fade in the evening then dry by night. Look for highs of 15 to 24C.
Friday 18/08/17 It appears to stay unsettled with a good deal of cloud with showers or longer spells of rain. The showers turn heavy in the afternoon. A number of showers linger into the evening and night while an area of rain may reach North Sea coasts. Expect highs of 16 to 22C.
Saturday 19/08/17 Rather windy and chilly with spells of heavy rain and heavy showers. Mainly dry today across Northern Ireland and northern parts of Scotland. Expect highs of 16 to 22C.
Sunday 20/08/17 Showers are expected across northern Scotland. Most places look chiefly dry and bright with some sunshine as high pressure builds in from the south west. By evening an area of rain may reach Northern Ireland. Look for highs of 17 to 21C.
