Increasingly Unsettled
Milder Than of Late

An increasingly unsettled period of weather on the way and, overall, milder than of late

For the weather for the next few days click here

Thursday 22/3/18
Increasingly unsettled weather is forecast at across more northern and western areas as weather fronts move in off the Atlantic to bring some rain and showers, perhaps with a fresh or strong W or SW'ly wind too. High pressure will be declining into France by this point but may well still influence the weather across far southern and south-eastern areas of England with some drier and brighter weather through the morning, but with rain or showers then possible later in the day. Milder than of late, highs 6C to 11C.

Friday 23/3/18
Unsettled across many areas by next Friday, but especially in the north and west still where it may well be quite wet and windy through the day as low pressure approaches from the west. Perhaps still drier and brighter further south and east, but even here some rain or showers may well develop as the day progresses. Near average temperatures. Highs 7C to 11C.

Saturday 24/3/18
Low pressure is set to continue to dominate the weather into Saturday with a risk of rain or showers across many areas and, perhaps with some wintry precipitation across northern high ground. Windy perhaps in the north and west still as well and, overall, it will be a little cooler, if not feeling colder than the previous few days with temperatures slightly below average for late March. Highs 5C to 10C.

Sunday 25/3/18
Little change into Sunday at the moment with quite a strong signal from the various weather models for low pressure to be a dominant feature of the weather across the British Isles. As a result, further mostly cloudy and wet weather is forecast with rain or showers, at times, across many areas through the day and still with perhaps some wintry precipitation across higher ground in the north. Feeling chilly for late March. Highs 5C to 10C.

Monday 26/3/18
A rather cold late March day is expected next Monday at the moment as low pressure continues to dominate, but drifts more towards the east perhaps allowing for more of a north or north-westerly wind to develop through the day. Sunshine and showers for most, wintry in the north, but perhaps drier and brighter in the south-west. Overnight frost possible. Highs 5C to 9C.

Tuesday 27/3/18
Uncertainties by next Tuesday but still generally unsettled and rather cold for late March with sunshine and showers continuing to dominate, wintry in the north. There is, however, almost an equal chance of a drier, colder period of weather arriving in association with N'ly winds and high pressure developing just to the west, bringing drier weather into more western areas through the day, but still with the risk of showers in the east. Overnight frosts remain possible. Highs 4C to 9C.
