Unsettled with rain and showers, perhaps improving later

The weather is set to be unsettled across the UK and Ireland in the coming week. Low pressure will be in control producing periods of rain and showers. The showers will be heavy and thundery at times and there is a risk of flodding in places in the more torrential showers. perhaps becoming warm early next week and signs of an improvement later in the week.

Saturday 20/5/17
Low pressure remains over the UK and Ireland on Saturday. This is going to bring a showery day to all. Some sunny spells in the morning but showers soon developing and becoming heavy. There is a risk of thunder and hail with local flooding in the heavier rain. An area of more persistent rain may affect Scotland. Tops at 12 to 17C.


Sunday 21/5/17
Little changes for Sunday with low pressure in control once again. A day of sunshine and showers, the showers heaviest in northern England and Scotland. An area of rain may affect Ireland. Temperatures at 13 to 17C.

 
 
 


Monday 22/5/17
Low pressure may drift a little further west on Monday with pressure rising slightly to the east. Showers and rain associated with the low in western areas but perhaps an improvement to the east with sunny spells. Warm in the east. Highs at 14 to 23C.

 
 
 


Tuesday 23/5/17
An area of low pressure drifts back into the UK and Ireland again on Tuesday and this looks set to be bringing about another unsettled day. There will be a mix of rain and showers and it may become breezier too. Tops at 14 to 21C.


Wednesday 24/5/17
Low pressure is expected to be remaining over or close to the UK on Wednesday. This brings further showers and rain, possibly heavy at times. Highs at 15 to 20C.

Thursday 25/5/17
The area of low pressure remains over the UK on Thursday. Further showers are likely and again these could be heavy. The showers probably becoming less persistent over Ireland. Highs at 14 to 19C.
