Rain and showers, dry later this week

The weather will be unsettled moving into the upcoming week with most places seeing some rain and showers. We do expect high pressure to build in by the weekend and this has the potential to bring in a spell of warm summery weather to most parts of the United Kingdom.

Persistent outbreaks of rain to affect Northern Ireland. A few showers to affect Scotland, Wales and western England. Fair and dry in the east. Rather windy in the west. Showers are likely in many areas overnight. Normal temperatures. Expect highs of 17 to 23C.

Thursday 17/08/17
It remains unsettled with occasional showers across Britain along with dry, sunny spells. Most of the showers will be in the west. A fine, dry evening and night to follow. Some patchy mist develops around dawn. Feeling warm. Expect highs of 17 to 24C.

Mostly cloudy today and staying unsettled. It appears cooler with showers and longer spells of rain. Below normal temperatures are likely. A dry evening and night to come. Look for highs of 16 to 20C.

 
 
 

Saturday 19/08/17
With high pressure building in, it should be mainly dry with sunny spells. Rain to affect Scotland and Northern Ireland overnight. Temperatures around normal. Expect highs of 17 to 22C.

 
 
 

Sunday 20/08/17
Sunday may be very warm across England. Rain across the north turns showery in the afternoon. Sunniest across East Anglia and the south east. Expect highs of 19 to 25C.

Monday 21/08/17
An area of rain may affect the north west of Scotland. The rest of Scotland, England, Wales and northern Ireland will be fine, dry, warm and sunny. Look for highs of 18 to 25C.
