Unsettled into the weekend but then an improvement next week

Conditions stay unsettled through the rest of this week and into the weekend. Low pressure pushes fronts through the country bringing rain, most of it in the west. It is expected to become drier and more settled early next week as high pressure builds. Temperatures are going to be rising and there will be more sunshine too.

Saturday 10/6/17
A large area of low pressure to the west of Ireland on Saturday. Fronts pass northeast through the UK and Ireland bringing cloud and rain. Most of the rain will be to the west, with more eastern and southern areas tending to see only spots of rain and drizzle. A few bright spells affecting parts of the Midlands and southeast England. Lots of low cloud and fog affecting western and southern coasts and hills. Heavy showers follow through Ireland, these thundery at times. Rain arrives in northern Scotland during the afternoon. Winds becoming strong in the west. Tops near a muggy 16 to 21C.


Sunday 11/6/17
Another day of showery rain for northern Britain as low pressure drifts into the North Sea. These may merge into constant rain at times for the north-west, whilst showers should be more scattered further south. Some sunshine, best across the south & south-east, where much of the day stays dry. Breezy north and west in west or northwesterly winds. Cool in the north at 13 to 16C, warmer in south 19 to 23C.


Monday 12/6/17
Pressure builds across the south early next week, allowing things to becomes more settled than recent days. A mix of sunshine and scattered showers across Scotland and Northern Ireland, but most of southern Ireland, England and Wales will be drier and brighter. The best of the sunshine in the south. Highs at 20C in southern England, 14C in northern Scotland.
 


Tuesday 13/6/17
Higher pressure likely to remains across southern areas bringing a fair day with good spells of sunshine here. Thicker cloud and some showery may affect western Scotland and Northern Ireland. Probably drier in much of southern Ireland and eastern Scotland. Highs 15 to 22C.


Wednesday 14/6/17
High pressure builds through much of the UK and Ireland on Wednesday. This is going to be bringing a fair day to many. It is likely to be dry with good sunny spells and will be feeling warmer too. Some drizzle and low cloud may trouble the far northwest of Scotland. Highs at 25C in southern England, 18C in northern Scotland.

Thursday 15/6/17
High pressure continues to dominate the weather. This brings dry conditions and lots of sunshine although some cloud and drizzle may again trouble northern Scotland. A warm day at 19 to 26C.
