Chilly north, mild south. Often windy.

Deep low pressure moves north of Scotland and brings wet and windy conditions to the start of this week. High pressure then builds in by mid week and this settles the weather down to give some fine, dry days. Fronts then affect the north of Britain. Temperatures will be mildest in the south with all parts perhaps cooler by the end of the week.

Tuesday 03/10/17
Expect near average temperatures today but feeling quite chilly in brisk north west winds. Apart from showers across western Scotland, expect a dry day with sunny spells and cloud. Dry overnight with clear spells. Expect highs of 12 to 16C.

Wednesday 04/10/17
We are expecting a very windy day in the north with gales and rain across northern Scotland. Much of England and Wales appears to be dry with sunny spells. An area of rain lingers across northern Scotland overnight. Expect highs of 13 to 16C.

 
 
 

Thursday 05/10/17
Milder with temperatures mainly above normal. A dry, mostly sunny day for most - cloudier across the north west. Rain moves into Scotland in the night. Dry and clear in the south. Look for highs of 14 to 19C.

 
 
 

Friday 06/10/17
Overall cooler and increasingly windy with gales across Scotland. Apart from rain in the north west, a dry day with a good deal of cloud and sunnier spells in the south. Expect highs of 13 to 18C.

 
 
 

Saturday 07/10/17
A colder day to come with below normal temperatures and strong north west winds enhancing the colder feel. Lots of cloud around along with occasional showers, most of these towards the north and the west. Expect highs of 11 to 15C.

Sunday 08/10/17
A windy, chilly day with an area of rain across northern England in the morning. This will be light and patchy as it tracks into central and southern England along with Wales. Across Scotland and Northern Ireland it will feel cold with scattered showers around the coasts and over the hills. Look for highs of 11 to 15C.
