Rather cloudy over Ireland, Scotland and northern England with showers, and longer spells of rain for west Scotland, along with strong winds. Some gales are possible in exposure. Elsewhere a brighter day with plenty of sunny spells. Maximum temperatures at 15-16C for most areas, but rising to 20-21C over the southeast.

Through the evening expect rain to develop more widely over western and southern Ireland, some spreading over west Wales and southwest England by early Saturday morning. Showers over northwest Highlands. Elsewhere mostly dry with clear spells. Minimum temperatures at 9-10C.

The day will be rather cloudy for central and northern parts with outbreaks of light and patchy rain. Drier further south with sunny spells. As the wind will turn northwesterly from the north later, drier condition will gradually spread to all. Tops of 16-18C over most parts, but reaching 21C over the southeast.

A ridge of high pressure will offer drier conditions for most areas through Sunday, although rather cloudy. Best of brightness over southern England. Through the afternoon expect thick cloud and outbreaks of rain over northwest Scotland and northwest Ireland, but turning drier later. Maximum temperatures at 12-14C over Scotland, 16C over Ireland, and 18-20C for much of England.
