Snow showers west and north, drier and brighter in the east and staying very cold
Snow over the hills and moors of southwest England this morning with further sleet and snow too in southern Ireland. Snow showers in northwest and western Scotland. Fair for other areas and cold too. Plenty of sunshine across central and northern England as well as southern Scotland.
This afternoon sees cold, sunny conditions for much of England and Wales as well as southern Scotland. Snow showers will be heavy in northern and western Scotland with a risk of thunderstorms. Some snow showers, thundery too in northwest England and the far north of Northern Ireland.
Cloud tonight through central parts of England and Wales with a few snow showers in the west and north, some thundery. Further snow showers in the North of Northern Ireland as wel as northern Scotland. Clearer skies and drier in southern and eastern England, still with scattered showers in the southwest. A widespread frost.
