Morning cloud breaking, a strong east winds in the south

A breezy and cloudy morning through England and Wales this morning. Eastern areas of Scotland are likely to be cloudier too. Sunny spells for western areas of Scotland, northwest England, western Wales and southwest England. Some good spells of sunshine in Ireland too.

This afternoon stays breezy with gusts of 40mph developing over East Anglia and southeast England. Cloudy for the far south of England but for most other areas it will be fine and dry with good spells of sunshine. The best sunshine always in more western areas. Feeling cool in the breeze, cold on eastern coasts.

Tonight brings the threat of some patchy rain in the far southwest of England. Most areas will be dry with clearer skies. Windy for Wales, central and southern England, a risk of gales here.
